an unlikely blog post

There's been a recurring issue in the office lately.

AutoCAD

You know it's an issue when every single person has complained about it by lunchtime. One of our staff sent an email, "AutoCAD has been crashing like crazy here in the office!" In fact, I'm typing this up as I wait for a .dwg to recover...
an all-too-familiar sight
     a few acronyms I've learnt:
    T.I.A. - this is Africa
    T.I.U. - this is Uganda
T.I.A.C.A.- this is AutoCAD in Africa

ok so that last one is a joke
Amid my own frustrations, I was reminded last night that all the 'work' we do here at eMi isn't our work at all. Yes, a 30-minute edit may have taken 3+ hours to complete (I mean, REALLY??), but God has perfect timing - after all, it is His project.
~patience~

On a completely different topic, architects/landscape architects ignore my protests to putting in long, winding roads on a property "no, Belinda, we're not going to change them into boring straight roads". Water distribution and utilities are preferably placed alongside pathways, and, last time I checked, pipes were manufactured straight - NOT curved. Plus you'll need more materials. With increased potential for build-up/blockage. Did I mention maintenance? Oh, the engineer in me.

  1. 职业病is what you're describing, I believe? I don't know which is worse - that, or when every time you go to the shops your mind runs through the elements of formation of contract :P

Anyways, have been thoroughly encouraged/inspired by your recent blogging - particularly the one re: prayer. God really does move when His people pray!

    Stay safe!
